Tucked away in East London, Nagare Coffee brings a different kind of energy to the city. Its name comes from the Japanese word for “flow,” yet behind it stand three Hong Kong founders. The design language is pure Japanese minimalism: natural tones, ceramics, and a serene atmosphere.

The menu is one of the most playful I’ve seen in London. I tried the matcha bagel with mochi & pistachio paste, cheesey apple bacon bagel, miso burnt butter sesame bagel, mentaiko mochi butter roll, and the euji daifuku bun.

The coffee was nothing short of exceptional – smooth, silky, and perfectly balanced. The miso burnt butter sesame bagel was a standout, while the matcha bagel felt slightly tough. Still, paired with the pistachio paste, it offered a surprising layer of flavor.
Nagare Coffee is more than just a coffee shop – it’s an experience. For matcha lovers, it feels like a little oasis in London. It’s where the dynamism of Hong Kong meets the quiet grace of Japanese design.
